Duck Woods Country Club Offers Four Scholarship Programs

Over the years, thousands of dollars have been awarded in scholarship money from these organizations

Women's Association of Duck Woods Country Club (WADWCC) Scholarship

The Women’s Association of Duck Woods Country Club established its Memorial Scholarship in 2002 to honor previous members of the association. The scholarship has recently been revamped. Its new name is the Fresh Start Memorial Scholarship. We are seeking out individuals who have had a lapse in their secondary education and, are looking to either obtain an educational or vocational diploma. The scholarship can be used to assist with tuition, books, or other educational related expenses. Previous recipients of the scholarship should contact the Scholarship Chair, Rosemarie Halloran, through the club to obtain a separate application.

APPLICATION DEADLINE IS APRIL 1, 2024.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a high school diploma or a GED, but do not have a bachelor's degree.
  • Post-secondary education has been interrupted or delayed at least one year.
  • Resident of Dare or Currituck County.
  • US Citizen or have permanent residency status.
  • Plan to enroll in a minimum of one course.

Duck Woods Ladies Tennis Association Scholarship Fund

The Duck Woods Ladies Tennis Association Scholarship Fund was established in 1996 as an endowment fund in partnership with the Outer Banks Community Foundation. The scholarship is awarded annually to a senior graduating from a Dare or Currituck County High School. For over 24 years. the Duck Woods Ladies Tennis Association has been committed to supporting students as they work to further their education.

Duck Woods Ladies Golf Association Founders Scholarship

The Duck Woods Ladies Golf Association Founders’ Scholarship was established in 1991 to honor its founding members. Scholarship recipients are graduating high school senior from Dare or Currituck County. These recipients have demonstrated a financial need, a strong academic record, an athletic ability, and an interest in the game of golf.

Duck Woods Men's Golf Association Dr. Scott Anthony Grant Program

Since 2005, the Duck Woods Men’s Golf Association (MGA) administers a generous grant provided by the estate of Dr. Scott Anthony. Dr. Anthony was a long-time member of Duck Woods and an avid golfer. His vision was to ensure that young local high school students, with a keen interest in the game of golf, would not be deterred by the high cost of entry into the sport.
